TRENDS FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER SEASON OF 2019

While we are still getting used to the first cold, we secretly long for the warm days of summer already. We like to immerse you in these sunny atmospheres with our trend forecasts for the spring/summer season of 2019. Which colours will predominate and which prints will be the eyecatchers of this season?

COLOUR TRENDS

1. NEUTRAL COLOURS

In today's hyper-connected world, people are looking for peace and simplicity. Sometimes we leave the rush of life behind and make room for some me-time. The neutral colours provide a lot of light and breathing space. We choose neutrals in our interiors to create a pleasant environment where we can just sit down and relax. 
 

2. ORIENTAL COLOURS

The world is becoming more global and this is clearly visible in interior design. In addition, people are traveling further away than before and are constantly inspired by other cultures. Many southern influences, such as colors and patterns, take a place in our homes. The oriental colours are mainly warm & summery, they immediately create a cozy atmosphere.

3. NATURAL COLOURS

Green is the colour of 2019. Not just one kind of green, different shades will be trending. Also the colour ‘Teal’ (= kind of blue, see below) is named as a big colour trend for SS19. All these colours can be linked to nature, a topic that is becoming increasingly important nowadays. More and more people attach importance to nature, we want to treat it with respect and live more consciously. Also house plants remain popular in 2019.

DESIGN TRENDS

1. ANIMAL PRINTS

Animal prints are extremely popular in fashion and they also increasingly embrace our interiors. From leopard print to elephant skin, everything is possible. In houses they are mainly used as eye-catchers in a sober interior.

2. FULL BLOOM

Floral patterns are trending, the spring/summer season 2019 offers a variety of flower options. From soft to bold, from small to large, from abstract to romantic. Which ones do you prefer?

3. ROUGH WOOD TEXTURES

Wood never really disappears from interior design. But we go back to basics and opt for more robust wood. Various types of parquet floors also remain popular in the next season.

4. DOTS & SPOTS

The dots and spots are totally back. Do you opt for perfectly round dots in a symmetric pattern or do you prefer some imperfection? Both options are possible! 

5. WEAVE PATTERNS

Another trend that probably will emerge in the next season is the weave pattern. This can vary from a very classic pattern to a rather geometric or abstract pattern. Which one fits best your interior?

6. TROPICS

We love to travel and like to extend these atmospheres in our interiors. Thanks to the tropic patterns, it feels like we are on exotic island all year round. What else are you looking for?

7. FIGURATIVE ABSTRACT

Imperfection is the keyword of 2019. The world is so demanding that we occasionally look for some imperfection. Unusual forms, non-symmetry, abnormal compositions: we will see it all in the upcoming spring/summer season.
